The Arjay Hobbies

Community Crafting Hub

A Safe Space for All

More Than Just Crafting

Our Community Hub represents the heart of what Arjay Hobbies stands for - creating connections, supporting wellbeing, and providing a safe space where everyone is welcome. Officially launched in September 2025, our crafting hub has already become a vital resource for local residents.

Who We Welcome

The hub is open to everyone, particularly those facing mental health challenges, learning difficulties, loneliness, or anyone simply seeking community connection. We proudly support veterans with PTSD, individuals with autism, young people, and families from all backgrounds - including those who have experienced displacement and trauma.

Our Facilities

  • • Seven fully equipped workstations with professional tools
  • • Industrial extraction and airbrushing facilities
  • • Complete range of paints, glues, brushes, and modelling supplies
  • • Comfortable seating area with refreshments
  • • Expert guidance and support from experienced modellers

Success Stories

We've witnessed incredible transformations - from young people with learning difficulties achieving their first completed models to veterans finding therapeutic relief through crafting. One young Ukrainian refugee has found particular comfort in creating models, helping him process his family's experiences.

Opening Hours

Monday to Saturday: 10:00am - 4:00pm
Walk-ins welcome, though vulnerable children and adults must be accompanied by an appropriate carer, adult, or parent.

Our Philosophy

"I just want to help people," says founder Arjay Reynolds, who started the hub from his own understanding of mental health challenges. "We see so much negativity in the news - I decided to create an environment filled with laughter, a place to unwind and forget."

Community Partners

Special thanks to Calne International Plastic Modellers Society (Calne IPMS) for their invaluable support, particularly Jezz Coleman for equipment guidance and ongoing demonstration support.

What to Bring

Feel free to bring your own projects - whether Warhammer miniatures, Airfix models, or any crafting project. We provide all basic supplies, but personal projects are always welcome.
